While shopping at Bass Pro yesterday for Mr. Destructo's new hunting gear, we had quite a fun conversation. Okay so at 16 months, Destructo isn't the greatest conversationalist. He probably says 30+ words and can even string 2-3 together. But still, boy can argue.
We were walking around checking out everything at Bass Pro and we came up on the target practice deer. Kai said "Bug Bug." Bug Bug is our dog Ladybug and any other dog.
Me: Those aren't puppies. They are deer.
Destructo while vehemently shaking his head no: Bug Bug
Me: I promise you those are deer. Daddy is going to go hunting and try to get one of those.
Destructo angry now: BUG BUG
Me: Sure kid. That is Bug Bug
Destructo nodding yes: Bug Bug.
Ahh such is the arguments with my 16 month old. He also was running around hiding in all the camo and laughing hysterically. You know how hard it is to keep up with a small child in the big racks of camo?
Hilarious! Why do they always want to hide in the clothes? *Sigh.* Both of my boys do that too.
ReplyDeleteI know! I don't know why I try to correct my son on certain names or topics. Like it's shady NOT dark. I don't know why I keep trying to explain this to him, I should have learned my lesson by now.
ReplyDeleteI have the same kind of conversation with my little guy all the time. Although he says "dah" and does the sign for dog for any four legged animal.
ReplyDeleteKai divides animals into dog and cat typically. Oh and cow. It amused me to no end at the zoo yesterday which category the animals would fall in.
DeleteStopping over from tottle along Tuesday. Sometimes is is easier to just agree.... As a toddler, I used to call every dog 'Mar. That was how I said lamar which was my dog's name at the time
ReplyDeleteYep all dogs are Bug Bug (which is short for Ladybug, our dog's name.) I agree with him a lot to stop the onslaught of temper tantrums.
