I am so excited to be able to share some of our favorite books
to read together over the last 7 years or so.
Baby books are so easy! They love to touch and feel, so anything
that you can find with large pictures and different fabrics is great!
It seems they are everywhere you turn! They're so cute too, so
how can you resist?
As kiddos get older it's harder to decide which ones to choose
as there are so many to choose from!
Spending time together with your kiddos reading is one of the
best times I believe you will have with them! Cuddling, giggling and fun times
abound! What could be better? It is by far my kiddo’s favorite time with me I
know! We always put an hour aside before bed to read together! It calms them
down and makes bed time A LOT easier and more enjoyable for everyone! What
parent wouldn't want an easier bedtime?
For my list I started with ages 2-6, as this is when I found
that I wanted to choose books that would be fun and educational. It was
during this time that I also became aware of how important it is to look at the
content of the books. It's crazy that at this level you must begin to read
books ahead of time, but I found this to be true.
My Top Ten Read Aloud Books
Ages 2-6
"Corduroy"
As kids get older they want to start choosing their own books,
and this is when you really have to begin watching the
content. Reading aloud makes this easy, if you come across something you don't
like or approve of you can either skip that portion of the book or stop reading
it all together. I have had to do both unfortunately, but it is good for the
kids to see that their parents do what they are always telling the kiddos to
do. If it isn't good literature, then put it away.
My Top Ten Read Aloud Books
Ages 7-10
"Ben Hur"
"Dear America" Series
"Value Tale" Series
"Chronicles of Narnia" Series
Currently we are reading the following books aloud.
I hope y'all have a wonderful time exploring some new books that
are wonderful to read aloud! Enjoy the cuddles, giggles, and precious time with
each other!
